Simon brings a rare mix of software consulting, dealmaking and executive leadership to Angel City Data. He started his career in investment banking, advising technology companies on M&A and partnerships. He then became a Managing Partner at Cambridge Technology Partners, where he led large software and systems-integration projects for clients such as Charles Schwab, Cisco and HP. He went on to serve as CEO of ERA Real Estate, EVP of Product & Innovation at Anywhere Real Estate, and CEO of Arrival Home Loans leading product strategy and AI initiatives. Simon is committed to keeping the client-first culture David built while investing in the team and its tools. Outside of work, Simon enjoys food and travel with his family, scuba diving, and being a painfully mediocre triathlete.
Chris’s background includes a 10-year career in production management and budgeting in the film, television, post-production and visual effects industries. Chris transitioned to computer software at a major computer game company. While there, he honed his interface design skills, enabling him to build intuitive user experiences into business software systems. The apps Chris designs deliver huge ROI to customers, often paying for themselves many times over. He is expert at custom development and an excellent “trail guide” for our new customers. He is an avid bike rider and a passionate photographer; some of his photos adorn the walls at ACD…and this website.
Joe has broad experience and has worked at such companies as Disney, Amgen, and CRESST/UCLA, managing critical business applications. Joe is FileMaker certified and also works with a variety of other technologies like Access, SalesForce and Zoho. He has designed and built systems for dozens of industries but has become particularly expert in entertainment, fire departments and membership organizations. Joe is known for his rock-solid customer service and his clever problem solving skills…that often leave the rest of the ACD staff in silent awe. On the side, Joe has written, directed, produced and acted in a number of feature films and shorts. He is also an accomplished magician.

Brian has over 15 years experience in the FileMaker world starting in the public education sector, before moving into the health-services industry at United Healthcare. His skills at creating speed and efficiency in a system is cutting edge. Brian has created this efficiency for large school systems, non-profit organizations, and the biggest health insurer in the world ( UHC ). No system is too big or too complicated to scare away this under-the-hood wizard. He continues to hone his skills in JavaScript, JSON and a world of mind-bending new technologies that interest our customers. In his spare time, Brian enjoys international travel and exploring new cultures around the world.
Julia brings a skilled background in graphic and web design to her work as a superb consultant. She received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Art from the University of California San Diego and has extensive experience designing systems for the non-profit, fine art, and education sectors. Julia specializes in effective interface design and she helps the entire crew at ACD create applications that are inviting and friendly. She is a FileMaker Certified developer and plays in PHP and other web technologies. Julia also has a hand in a developing ACD’s internal systems, keeping the team productive with great tools. She can be found in her down time pursuing painting, sculpture, music, and her cats.
Deborah has been at the forefront of custom software solutions since 2003. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, she designs aesthetically pleasing, highly intuitive software that serves as a powerful catalyst for business transformation. Rooted in the philosophy that software should elevate, not complicate the user experience, Deborah focuses on developing platforms that are as enjoyable to use as they are functional. Her portfolio spans multiple industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, education, and event planning. Deborah also enjoys delving into the celestial realm of astrology where she finds solace and inspiration in understanding the cosmic dance of the stars.
Jeremy is a software developer, web-application engineer, and educator who helps people build modern, interactive solutions with an assortment of technologies. He teaches developers how to use clean architecture, modern interfaces, and web-viewer techniques to enhance their systems. His work spans JavaScript and API integrations, data visualization, and hybrid desktop/web workflows. He uses FileMaker, JavaScript, React, Supabase, and AWS tools to build applications for various industries, including logistics, real estate, professional services, education, and finance. He is known for his clarity and patience, as he helps clients and other developers extend their technology.
Christina is a web developer with a focus on practical, user-friendly digital solutions. Since beginning her web development career in 2020, she has worked on reliable web experiences and complex workflow challenges with a detail-oriented, problem-solving approach. She played an integral role in the development of the BetterForms platform, contributing to the advancement of a powerful solution for streamlining web-based workflows. As a FileMaker Certified professional, Christina brings a strong technical foundation and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and continuous learning.
Angie received a BA in Architecture from Berkeley and an MFA from the California Institute of Arts, so her ideal software designs are a blend of elegant user interface and creative problem solving. Growing up in a household where both parents were scientists, she has some pretty serious math & calculation chops. She’s worked on systems in a number of industries, including non-profit, real estate, and education. She’s a technical Swiss army knife, proficient in FileMaker Pro, Access and other products and loves getting non-related programs talking to each other. In her free time she’s either roasting her own coffee beans, competing in dog agility, or asking people about gravlax.
Norman is a passionate, customer-focused professional with over 15 years’ experience in Information Technology, and has been responsible for building multiple Apple reselling and service businesses. Norm is a caring individual with degrees in both Psychology and Business, and uses his “client whisperer” skills at ACD to assist with lead generation, sales, partnership development, customer relationship management and negotiation. He is never happier than when he can bring good partners together to solve business technology issues. In his spare time, Norm is ardent photographer and a long-time board member of the Los Angeles Digital Imaging Group.
